      The subcommittee's report, "Elderly Housing Overview: HUD's Inaction," is timely and its recommendations deserve serious attention. What I find so disheartening is~that we see evidence of urgent and desperate need of housing for our senior citizens, yet bureaucratic delays and inefficiency prevent this program from helping those in need. default-prone loans.
